De Lier is a relatively small village, now part of the municipality of Westland. It has always been a shopping street with great little shops. Over time there was an increasing need for parking and was made behind the shopping area for parking spaces. This is a development that you see in many villages often a pretty good running store stands with chaotic fragmented ad hoc parking lots behind it.

The scaling properties were here and there combined to create space for a supermarket. In de Lier, this was also true until it appeared that there really was a need for larger supermarkets and therefore again more parking. On this basis, after analysis, we made a master plan for the development of the rear area where two supermarkets are planned: a Jumbo and an Albert Heijn with parking garages and ground level parking in between. Above the supermarkets, apartments are created what was good for the center. It remain a whole because of the connection between parking, supermarkets and shopping center. The overall plan is now realized.
