Redevelopment De Ganskuijl in Amersfoort started, De Ganskuijl is a ’50s district with a characteristic buildings of that time and designed by the architect Zuiderhoek.

Part of the flats are being demolished and replaced by new buildings and the other part will be renovated on behalf of the Alliantie. Roeleveld-Sikkes Architects has created the new urban plan, esthetic masterplan and supervised and designed new homes. Colleague Klaas Waarheid of Schagen Architects made the renovation.
The redevelopment consists of 54 low-rise houses and a block of apartments which will be commissioned by `s Heeren Loo. The simplicity and the details of the ’50s houses were the inspiration for the new buildings which is accent especially on the gables. The green setting from the existing plan is an especially important factor in the urban plan: this continues between the new buildings. This transitions between public-private are very important,which is achieved by utilizing garden walls and elevation terrain. The project is a complex plan, where urban planning, landscape and architecture go hand in hand.
